For those who know music theory, you know frothy waters had to have been a freaking NIGHTMARE to arrange and play.

I’m an idiot, I never realized that the instrument in those songs was a Cello, I literally play the Cello
Most bands in Splatoon either follow musical norms for the most part, or ignores them for the most part but still tries to make something coherent.
And then you have ω-3, who seems to be making an active effort to violate as many musical norms as possible. And it’s for that reason that they’re one of my favorite bands in the series.

@@VashTown it's just an unusual thing for popular music, and even video game music
@@VashTown by “shouldn’t really work” I don’t mean that as a negative but more so how unique it is that it almost sounds like the time signature is changing every bar creating some dissonant harmonies that perhaps may not work in other places but fits perfectly here with the frantic nature of what’s happening in the game.
the cellist Seigen Tokuzawa (徳澤青弦) is a famous musician in Japanese contemporary music scene.
He was also a member of Tokyo Olympic 2020 opening ceremony team.
The amount of effort and precision the cello player goes through is incredible. Kudos to Nintendo for crediting them in the video.

That Big Run lobby theme is one of my favorites among the splatoon 3 OST. I actually hang out at the lobby just to listen to it. Too bad Big Run doesn't come too often.

Salmon Run has always been home to some of my favourite tracks from the entire Splatoon franchise, so to see them being played in a recording studio is just great, even though they may have been hard to play… gotta give Seigen props for sticking to it for so long.
I love these videos! As someone who studies music production, it's cool to see all of these great tracks being recorded in the studio. Pls post one showing the recording of Calamari Inkantation and Liquid Sunshine!
