Most bands in Splatoon either follow musical norms for the most part, or ignores them for the most part but still tries to make something coherent. And then you have ω-3, who seems to be making an active effort to violate as many musical norms as possible. And it’s for that reason that they’re one of my favorite bands in the series.

@@VashTown by “shouldn’t really work” I don’t mean that as a negative but more so how unique it is that it almost sounds like the time signature is changing every bar creating some dissonant harmonies that perhaps may not work in other places but fits perfectly here with the frantic nature of what’s happening in the game.
This man's cello skills are so strong, the video itself had trouble containing it and started breaking apart before he decided to stop and let the video live! Respect!
who else has been waiting years for w-3 behind the scenes? sooooo glad we get to see the musician responsible for the amazing cello playing we hear in salmon run!
That Big Run lobby theme is one of my favorites among the splatoon 3 OST. I actually hang out at the lobby just to listen to it. Too bad Big Run doesn't come too often.
Salmon Run has always been home to some of my favourite tracks from the entire Splatoon franchise, so to see them being played in a recording studio is just great, even though they may have been hard to play… gotta give Seigen props for sticking to it for so long.
as an ex cellist i would have gotten so many dirty looks if i played a lot of those chords whoever composed this is an evil genius and i am so jealous of their skill and knowledge
I love these videos! As someone who studies music production, it's cool to see all of these great tracks being recorded in the studio. Pls post one showing the recording of Calamari Inkantation and Liquid Sunshine!
being the 1000th like on an official nintendo video for one of my favorite parts of the soundtrack of one of my favorite games ever feels like a good luck blessing
major respect to the cellist, trying to keep up with a song that changes time signature every measure on the cello of all things takes a huge amount of skill
this song is sick af . that dude is so creative and talented . i can just picture him sitting in a room just playing all day trying to figure out songs to make
For those who know music theory, you know frothy waters had to have been a freaking NIGHTMARE to arrange and play.
ikr, i couldn't imagine trying to play this. (it would be pretty cool tho.)
I know music theory and my brain hurts to think about it
@@Spletz the main gimmick is adding one extra 16th note to the riff with each bar, and then the second part is uuuuuh chaos

It's really funny
That cello player deserves some recognition and an award! 🏆
There was no bass. It was cello
@@Luna_musicfuntimecool oops
Bro singlehandedly carried the whole salmon run medley
Ikr, He even performed the glitched out parts. Truly mind-blowing
I’m an idiot, I never realized that the instrument in those songs was a Cello, I literally play the Cello
The absolute concentration on the cello man is insane, god bless him
He should’ve stared directly at the camera while doing that
@@37654 it would've been funnier I agree, but he's gotta read his sheet music 😭

Splatoon music is a true blessing from Nintendo.
That first song is so odd and shouldn’t really work but is so unique and cool at the same time.

what

The amount of effort and precision the cello player goes through is incredible. Kudos to Nintendo for crediting them in the video.
Every band in the splatoon series is credited, even ded_f1sh

@Kreamer Studios at the end of the song, it's in the center of the screen dude, end of the video before the artwork appears
I love the way they portray glitches in the music. That is some fine work with the cello, congrats to him for sure!

This is why w-3 will always be my favourite splat band
Give each and every single one of them absurdly long Salmonid-style titles of honor, they deserve it. Mortal hands can’t move this fast.
Now we get to see the panic irl. Great
Salmon Run music is so cool, there's nothing else like it
The amount of concentration Seigen Tokuzawa (the cello player) must have put in to play these odd pieces time signature wise is insane.
Hi
Fr
please keep uploading these splatoon recording studio videos, we love to see them & i'm glad we have another one!
I like how cello is the main use of salmon run music itself
The editing when the music glitches out is spot on!
Salmon Run music is the Splatoon equivalent of the Guardian theme. Your heart rate just doubles when it starts playing
You mean they're all bops?
